Nightmare of Christmas ‘07

December 23rd, 2007

Christmas Jack

Twas the nightmare before christmas, and all through the house not a creature was peaceful, not even a mouse. The stockings all hung by the chimney with care, when open that morning would cause such a scare. The children nestled all snug in their beds would have nightmares of monsters and skeleton heads. Mwahahaha. Happy Holidays Everyone.

Preview to the Preview

October 22nd, 2007

Here is a preview of the new 2008 Jackson Manor Maze entrance preview. The reason it is a preview entrance is that we ran out of time to finish the maze, but we wanted to give our guests a little taste of what’s to come next year. And this is a preview to the preview because we haven’t finished this scenery yet, we have yet to build the mini porch and roof. More Pictures after the jump!

Floating Quill Pen Concept

June 22nd, 2007

Pen FloaterAfter some discussion on the Halloween-L mailing list about how the Turbidite Manor floating pen was achieved, so I decided to ponder on it a bit. This is what I came up with after watching the motion of the pen in the video. I tried my best to keep it relatively simple, and I couldn’t decide on the orientation of the rotating arms (vertical or horizontal). While I think that either orientation will provide neat results, I feel that the vertical orientation (as pictured) would provide the closest results.

2007 fog cooler concept

March 24th, 2007

cooler_right2.jpgThe beast we use as our main Graveyard fogger is the American DJ Fog Storm 1700HD. We have battled with this fogger every year, as none of the standard cooling methods can cool all of this monsters output fast enough. Last year more fog leaked from our cooler than what made it to the graveyard. But when the wind was right, it looked awsome. So I have been thinking of a new design that can handle all the fog and make it nice and cold. …
